Alexandrite
Alexandrite is arguably the rarest and most desirable of all non diamond coloured stone. In top quality a natural Alexandrite will be a rich and beautiful blue green colour when viewed in natural sun light. The same stone viewed in fire or incandescent light will show a rich purple red. Named after Russian tsar Alexander II (1818-1881) Alexandrite has always been difficult to source in fine quality due to high demand and extreme rarity. Metal Urges has formed a personal relationship with a small family mining business in Brazil that brings a handful of Alexandrite to market each year...we buy only their best pieces.
